Peter Essick

I really love his images. They are not only colorful but the other element that strikes me is the composition. It seems to be a common thread of what catches my eye. It is a great exercise to look at other work and see what it is you like or don’t like and how you can enhance your own work. I need to work on bringing out the color in my work.

I love this image. He really has taken his images to another level. The cropping and the color is very beautiful. I love the way that all the color and textures work together. And the symmetry is so strong.

Donald Miralle

I am amazed at the angles he uses in his photographs! I feel that I can do a pretty good job when it comes to composition, but I certainly could use some angle work. I think you have to be wiling to get into a lot of different positions and be aware in your setting of how to reach new heights or lows.

Jason Benito my classmate

I really like Jason’s work. The color and the panos that he has done are amazing to me. I know that he has spent some time working on them and he has done a great job. I would like to have more color and or least bring out the color in the photos that I have taken.

I love Rebecca’s work. I think I can relate to her composition of shapes and textures, that is what I am drawn to in her work. It is what captures my attention first when photographing.

Camp Winaka - Julian

Burned Ironwood

Interesting flowering plant on the trail.

Coast Live Oak

I was on a camping trip with my daughters brownie troop in Julian. The drive was beautiful. We drove down highway 79. I saw so many flowers that I have been photographing, and they were everywhere. It was wonderful to put a name to them. When we were hiking it was nice to be able to tell the girls what we were looking at. We say a lot of Coast Live Oak and Manzanita.
